About Us
Marana Bat Haven was founded to help heal the environment! Living in the Sonoran Desert, we’ve seen both beauty and destruction when looking out into nature. The more we learned the more we realized we could, and should, do something to help expand the beauty that once would’ve fully surrounded us. We’ll teach simple techniques that compound positively over time, and with some hard work and a little help, we’re confident our impact will carry through generations. In order to gently restore broken ecosystems of the Sonoran Desert, we’ll focus on three main things…
Veganic Permaculture
This includes creating water catches (like swales), planting native trees, and sometimes introducing fruit bearing trees very strategically.
Gentle Nature Conservation
Currently, we only intend to help with passive support to animals. Some animals that are extremely vital to the health of the Sonoran Desert, like bats, are threatened. By supplying water for them to drink, creating more nectar for them to eat, and houses for them to nest, we can make existence significantly easier.
Inspiring Others
We hope to give products, services, and education that empower others to help how they can.
Upcoming Plans
Our next steps are to offer classes, planting guides, permaculture strategies, conservation considerations, landscaping assistance, and share plants and other growing resources!
Get Involved
Sign up to our email list to be notified of upcoming classes, and keep an eye on the Education page where we’ll be sharing other resources! If you want to support us, please consider making a one-time or recurring donation, and share what you’ve learned with the people around you, we’d really appreciate it!
